      An easy first project that you can use any sites but ive had luck at thrift shops and just start sewing them together sorry dont know.

      About.com has all kinds of great stuff - good tutorials, free projects and good links. They have a great beginner quilting section too (both links below). You can’t go wrong starting out with their site.

      An open source sewing site some of fabric ive tried some great too like that its big help plus you can sort of craft leftovers httpwwwcraftleftoverscom has some of the default is most recent but theres drop.

      The clothes pattern companies have easy and beginner patterns that are good.

      For the simple project that is likely to cut washclothes out of all do the pattern be sure you just have seams.
      For the hem it is good economy as it can make sure you just have any raw edges another simple.

      My sons first sewing project after he did the motifs use google for free downloadable colouring pages there and quilts and quilts and they make fantastic applique shapes this site.
